The Mustard Seed Mission (MSM) is the 1st registered local social welfare organization in Taiwan and served Taiwanese needs around 64 years. The founder, Lillian R. Dickson, see the needs in Taiwan after World War II, so she crossed over the sea from USA to Taiwan to help needy people. She set up mobile medical clinics to help people who are infected by leprosy or other disasters; she also established children’s homes to take care of children who lost parents.
The one of important services at that time is to offer education to youth and women who are from indigenous tribes in order to assist them to get better job in town so that they are able to have a better life; also, she provides maternal and infant education to single mothers, the education program helps many single mothers and aboriginal woman know how to correctly take care of themselves and babies during pregnancy. MSM cares and provides children, widow, and families with quality education and financial support for 64 years both in Taiwan and in Asian countries till now. |
