In consideration to provide more opportunities for children to express themselves, build their confidence and more chances to practice, Mustard Seed Mission hosts a variety of events and competitions in hope to create an environment for children to better understand themselves and others. This summer, we host a worship competition. Through praising God with song and dance, many of us can submerge ourselves in a worship atmosphere to share true happiness. This is also one of many positive and learning activities in the summer.
"I will be the coordinator, Jim will help with sound. Amy and Fan will be the event host." Children gather and discuss the many details for the 3rd annual worship competition by Agape Children's Home. They assume the roles of staff and used their individual strength to design posters, coordinate with contestants, prepare contestant media files and took record of equipment. With all the prizes and rehearsal scripts ready for the two hosts, all things are ready as we wait for the day of competition to come. The day finally arrived. Contestants came early to rehearse and brainstorm how they could make the performance better. After everyone knows their places, the event was underway. Every attendant has a ballot to choose who they believe deserve the Most Popular award. On the other hand, every parent, staff, and friends helped as judges and our volunteers joined until the evening to celebrate together. Two hosts provided a humorous and relax atmosphere for the whole crowd. They has lots of improvement where praises came from many adults. Their courage and the skill of words are blossoming with generosity and affinity. After the opening performance by James, each contestant took turn to perform starting from the youngest child. Stage fright at first, youngster overcome and sang on the top of his lung. The contest is followed by performances with different instruments – Dance, Harmonica, Piano, Guitar, Singing. Each instrument expressed the uniqueness of worship songs and combined with contestant's talents to create emotional transformations. A group of four young ladies choreographed their dance and music to earn the best group performance award. There is also the guitar duo sang lovingly of "I'm willing to give to you" which touches the heart of judges. Lastly, Denny, who would tremble while playing piano before and grow to give a consistent performance where all the judges notice his improvement. At the end of the performance, the hosts open the discussion for Most Popular awards and encourage everyone to vote. The judges were invited to give their encouragements and thoughts. With cheerful and humorous delivery while presenting all the awards, judges reminded everyone to enjoy their fruit of hard work and continue to strive. Among all the emotional instances, home teachers would be the biggest fan for their children while they are performing. They would be at the first row to take photos all at the start of the performance. They won't want to miss the moment where children show their hard work. When the children perform a familiar worship song, everyone in the Children's Home clapped and sang together. Each unique soul was connected through worship songs. This beautiful connection was completed through the greatest God into everyone's heart of Agape Children's Home. We hope through each activity, practice and hard work, children can discover their true uniqueness and affirm their growth. Let the influence of planned educational activities for the children accumulate in their heart as their life treasure. Agape Children's Home http://www.mustard.org.tw/tab/547/id/44 |
